So, man up and take the waterproofs? Or get the train atleast one way??
Last time I took my bike on the train with the plan of cycling home I got the train back too.

I hate getting wet on the way out and being wet all day, on the way home is ok as there is the promise of a shower and dry clothes

Let the train take the rain!

I manned up, fuelled myself with the crispie cake (seriously need to go shopping!) and cycled the 14 miles there. Only got off once on the biggest hill, and didn't get lost AND ended up at the right part of the road to avoid cycling up the A595! result!!
Managed to sort everything out that needed sorting when I got there in 15 minutes flat, started to cycle home, hit a headwind and turned left for the train station, then wasted 30 minutes waiting for a train that was late.
Thought things were starting to go against me when a single carriage turned up and it didn't look like I was getting on, but the conductor was a star and I managed to squeeze the bike on.
To be fair I'd have made it home in the same time if I had just cycled on, but never mind.
No wet air either, but an awful lot of cow muck up my back!

I know the answer already, but I'm going to ask anyway.
Tomorrow I have to be 10 miles away (14 cycling miles to avoid main roads)
I was looking forward to the ride, but the weather's changed.:cursing:

I'd be happy to get charged for taking my bike on a train, provided it guaranteed me being allowed on the train. Our country train services don't seem to provide that guarantee. I've considered taking a train at least part of the way to the Victorian Alps and then riding the rest of the way there, to spend an enjoyable long weekend riding up some mountains. But the lack of guarantee has put me off, because I don't want to ride to the train station all kitted up for the long weekend, only to find I'm not allowed to take my bike on the train!
