Don't know the area but surely there are alternatives to the busy A38 and A52? There seem enough minor roads/streets nearby to plan an alternative safer route

Jezston said:It really slows down my commute - it's all plain sailing the rest of the journey (well, the way in anyway) - having to get off and walk just to get past that roundabout adds about 5 minutes!
Spoke to a cyclist colleague who comes in very early in the morning (well, by my standards - about 8am) and he says that early the drivers rarely stop at the lights by the ped crossings. Nice. Lots of HGVs crossing too who rarely see anything smaller than a hatchback so I'm still somewhat adverse.
