'Temperature check' is another that's quite fashionable nowadays.

Odd thing is that a lot of these people start using these in their personal lives outside of work. People just get programmed and stop thinking.

IT professionals, lawyers & doctors, sorry if there are any, you're the worst.

They forget that regular folk just don't understand they're specialised lexicon.

Lets take this discussion off-line

I really hate that one.

Along with:
Let's not stovepipe ourselves (is 'stovepipe' even a f*****g verb?)
Quick wins
Low hanging fruit - as in 'let's see if we can pick off the low hanging fruit'

and....oh I could go on but it infuriates me so much. Where does this rubbish come from? Do people think it up because they've nothing else to do or is it so managers have something to say that their staff don't understand? Or maybe some people really do think, 'yep, that's the expression for me. My staff will think I'm a right tosser.'

A few of us did play corporate bullshit bingo in a team meeting once. It was very funny (for us). I don't think our manager got the joke though.

If I ever hear that one, I imagine a hand cupping some testicles, and I burst into very very childish giggles. B)

I never heard him say it but we had a creative director who described a tricky job as trying to build a staircase with a jelly banister.

He was very creative but hopeless with plain english. The website he did the words for was infamously incomprehensible.

This is particular to one person but it really pisses me off "Let's table this discussion to an on-line dimension"... just what the f... does that mean?

According to one project manager we were pulling our tripe out to meet customers demands.

I'm even more determined now to just make them up and drop them into meetings, to see if people "pick them up and run with them" B)

For example, "Let's give this one a jolly good seeing to", or perhaps "Why don't we whip this one out and see if we get arrested"
