Fastest qualify for round 1

The rest?

Thats the flyer copied out verbatim and it pretty much explains it all doesn't it? I'll get in touch with the organisers tomorrow and ask if I can get a phone number for more info should anyone want it.

I'll do my very best to get there, see you there?

Not quite - what date is it ?

I think I need a bit more roller-time before I enter anything competitive : haven't been on mine since about March, so I suspect I'd probably come off pretty quickly if I went for it.

Aah, sorry  It's Sunday 14th October ie. this sunday.

I don't think it's rollers as in "like a trainer rollers". I hope. I will ring tomorrow and find out a bit more as a friend has some questions too. Should be a bit of fun though.

It's the Rollapaluza (sp) people who normally operate in London who are coming to Manchester for the first time so a good turn out would be good for them in regards to them coming back.

I've had a Google around.

Last time I did it, it was on basically beefed-up training rollers and involved a lot of sweaty men in a scouthut.
Here's some pictures of Addiscombe CC doing it - it looks about as salubrious as when I did it...
http://www.addiscombe.org/time_trial/rollers.htm

But this Rollapaluza thing seems different
Seems to involve static rollers under the rear wheel only, the front fork clamped-down.
Plus pumping music, lots of spectators, lots of noise, lots of beer...

Article from The Indie : "Is roller racing the next big thing in competitive pedalling?"
http://classified.independent.co.uk/cars/article2904370.ece

And from Rapha (spit) who sponsored it
http://www.rapha.cc/index.php?page=122

That looks a bit more interesting...
