Manchester v Heathrow

It's early days, but after commuting for a year from the Peak District - Manchester Airport, and now riding from Walton on Thames (campsite) - Heathrow, I find it far less scary down here...

Drivers seem to be more aware of cyclists. It's only been 3 weeks but the stupid overtaking manoeuvres inflicted on me on the A6 and the outskirts of Stockport just don't seem to happen down here.

A6 is one of the busiest commuting routes in Manchester. Plus, it has the greatest number of accidents on it.

Similar roads, I'd say; a mix of A roads and residential. Even a couple of sections of dual carraigeway which don't feel particularly stressful.
