A colleague spotted me going into Manchester the other day, positive comment was "I thought it was you as you were going much quicker than the other cyclists pedalling away" - down side he said he had seen me "avoiding" pot holes. I must have looked like a right loonie.........

Got new tyres on today, tested them by side jumping onto a pavement as someone gave me no room. Not good for my nice bright red sidewalls......... Testing continues.

At least we are seeing signs of them being repaired.

There's one stretch of road that needs half an hour of pen and paper to get the info to make a proper report, haven't had the time/energy to do it yet and they've ignored my request to "resurface it all please thankyou."

That's what Wythenshawe road was like, wouldn't have known where to start reporting it all tbh, thankfully they have done a full resurface, even cars were dodging in and out of the worst bits.
Avoided it today as it looked like they were diverting traffic the long way round while they do it.

The two wheel swallowers on top of the railway bridge on longley lane are still there. I reported them a couple of weeks ago.

Just past the tip? They are nasty, but ingrained in my memory banks now along with 15 others that I avoid over the 9 miles

I landed in one this morning on Hyde Road going into work - but, with my new trusty Fill That Hole app, I've uploaded it and sent it off.

To where...who knows......will it get fixed....who knows.......

I know the ones you mean. Was thinking of reporting but won't if you have. There's also a huge hole on Palatine Road just after the crossing before the river. Did you report that one?

Edinburgh's doing its usual cracking job - tip some tar into the hole and run away. Not bothering to pack it down here; they assume the vehicles driving over it will do that for them. Problem is, when they do, it packs it down into the hole leaving a slightly less deep hole. Surely sense would indicate that you fill, pack and then repeat until it's level and won't pack any more.

No - they'd be as well throwing their money in the fire right now as they're not actually repairing anything. Since they have no money to burn, you'd think they show tighter control on those they're paying to do the job!

What about a thread (with pictures) to highlight the worst roads and potholes in the UK?

Maybe if these local authorities were named and shamed they might do something about the shocking state of the roads and their pathetic attempts at repairing many of them.

That's good. The Longley Lane one was still a twin crater when I went past at 1pm, can't expect miracles I suppose.
Wythenshawe road was completely shut after the Moorcroft road junction, hope they're doing a good job, how long does it take to resurface 1/4 mile of tarmac? 3rd day now they've been working on it.

Can't say I spotted that one as I'm usually overtaking the standing traffic down the middle...... ahem.

Dene rd leading to Palatine rd is probably the worse road on my commute. The council never fill it as its no through road for traffic. Carpet bombed.
