I like maps. I have to miss OS 1:25000 almost daily, although via lap top or tablet on MapYX Quo for SAR planning. I may also sneakily use it for planning mtb rides...

The os maps and many other designs are a true work of art...
And they never lose signal or run out of battery power at the critical moment!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I hate maps. I dont need a sat nav to get lost. Any map will do. I feel like I have dyslsxia when I look at a map. My eyes just glaze over.

Maps are beautiful, but so is having them available on an iPad! It means you can view various different maps without having a large collection of paper maps that you only use once. I couldn't imagine going away on holiday without a map.

I also love old maps and love websites where you can view different times of the same place.

I'm confused, it is possible to use a sat nav as a map. Don't other people do that? The Garmin in my car is set to North Up, map view. It means I have a scrolling map to check, can see what's around me and can decide to ignore it if it's doing something weird, like taking me South when I want to go North.

I think satnav's are good if used as an aide to decision making but not if you blithely follow every command. Especially as I'm usually the navigator and I get distracted by looking all around me!

im a wagon driver so i rely far too much on my satnavs, i like to get home every day, so i dont waste any time with maps, but i like to use them for my bike, to keep my eye in incase my satnavs blow up

i bought a map of Lancaster the other week... 1845, but for some reason was only charged a tenner at the till. I didn't say anything and left before they spotted their error. It's crap... half the buildings are missing, my house isn't on it and neither is my street. I thinking about taking it back and might even get refunded the full cover price.
