A great, strange man. Some weird and wonderful music and fantastic lyrics.

RIP Mark

Oh my I have some stories about him. I worked with him & Brix on their Light User Syndrome album back in '95.
On one side of the coin he was a decent chap, on the other, not so.

But what ever anyone thinks of him and his music, he did what he wanted to do without compromise and without being dictated to by record companies. That is to be applauded.

Sad news.

I started a new thread but ppl beat me to it by seconds!

He was so prolific it's difficult to pick a favourite and he did write an awful lot of sh1te as well. I'll go for "Ghost in my House", "Kurious Oranj" and the quite frankly mental "What about us".

How much does it cost to Oldham?

Good summary. I'll add 'Salford's answer to Captain Beefheart'

Bugger. Saw them first in the late 1980's and few times since, tbh musically hit & miss for me but he was always interesting.

Can't believe this was 12 years ago, it was mesmerising after Robert Plant's dirges.

"He also delayed filming several times by wandering in and out of shot, calling Robert Plant 'c.u.n.t.y' and just generally behaving like what he is,"
