Mark Linkous RIP :o(

For alt-blues and indie music fans in the cafe, Mark Linkous aka Sparklehorse sadly committed suicide at the weekend. He made beautiful, intense and introspective music borne of an incredibly talented but very deeply depressed mind. It's got me through some bad times, anyway. V sad loss.

He seemed to have gone quiet recently - I read a while ago he had some legal issues preventing him releasing new stuff.

Only just found out from my wife when I got in. Was going to post an in memorium thread. A sad waste. Vivadixie... and Good Morning Spider have remained in the top echelons of my all time favourite albums since the days I bought them.

Yeah - you missed that? Also suicide... very sad.

It's plainly obvious that he meant every word when he sang the line "All I want is to be a happy man" (Happy Man). Sadly it wasn't to be.

The song was called 'chaos of the galaxy (happy man)' which says it all. Just watching some vids on youtube and they express so much pain - together with the music of course.
