That's a bit unfair, Mason bikes are thouroughly thought out and designed down to the smallest detail. Function is certainly not second to form, maybe its equal.

Not much I'm afraid. It got me round the Dirty Reiver, but most of my riding since then has been on the road and I prefer skinnier tyres for that.

How was the Dirty Reiver?
It's main selling point is it's a good bike. As Mason used to be the designer for Kinesis he knows a thing or two about bike design. Is it a bit esoteric, yes, that's part of the appeal. Could you get something as good cheaper, I doubt it actually. You might get something similiar but not the same.

Tough ride (for me ast least) even though we lucked out with the weather. A bit congested for the first 10km even with the staggered start, but it started to string out after that. Only about 20km on tarmac, the rest varying from hard packed dirt to some very rough gravel and a ford crossing. The toughest part was between 100 and 150km with a nasty 6km draggy climb and I was absolutely knackered when I got to the feed station at 150km. Fortunately, they were serving fresh coffee alongside roast potatoes (and playing Joy Division), so after a twenty minute lie down I managed to get going again.
Probably a once only deal for me.
The Mason was a pretty good choice for the ride though.

How are you getting on with it? Looks like you did a massive ride yesterday.

It arrived last Thursday and did a 214 mile ride on Saturday. I got a bit of pain in the hips and knees for a few miles (saddle too high), but once adjusted it was brilliant. That was on the tarmac, looking forward to getting it offroad soon.
Glad to see that the quick shakedown test showed the bike is okay, when will you take it out for its first proper run?
