1st sensible thing you've said all day ;)

C'mon though, "Xerocracy"? You gotta admit, its a whole new level of twattishness I never knew existed!
it means what you think it means. Nobody is in charge. I know that's difficult for you to understand, but it shouldn't be. If you say, in a clear way, let's go here, and people follow you, that's good. If they don't, then that's also good. If they follow you and then they don't follow you, that's just as good.

I only ever tried to lead it once - I thought we might go up to see a 'ghost bike' in Clerkenwell. We sort of got halfway there, then somebody had a different idea and we did a tour around Holborn and headed west.

I tried to read the explanation, but there were too many ocracies altogether involved.

Meanwhile, high up in the power houses of Critical Mass....

"Listen maaan, I know we gotta have an aim and purpose and all that funk, but democracy is soooo ungroovy right man? What we need is something new, something that gives all the members all of the power….

What like communism?

No maaaan, too political and we aint no politicals right maaaaan

Hows about a co-operative?

No maaaan, too commercial and we aint no ethical supermarket right maaaan

A collective?

No maaan, too organised, cos we aint like really like connected in the physical world right maaan

But you’re my brother? OK, so what you need is something that says ‘ complete lack of democracy’, zero democracy…… Maybe Zerocracy?

Yeeeh maaaan you got it, but Zeds maaan, they so uncool ask my mate Dee. X is the new Z.

I never did like you since you started smoking weed."

To be fair, to me xerocracy sounds an extremely corporate phrase.

Zerocracy = :rofl:

An excellent term to describe the value of the CM'ers in the real world. They make feck all difference, and give regular joes a good reason to hate 2 wheelers.

True, Linford.

CM is not a top down organisation. Local CMs can be run by anyone, anywhere.

If you get CMs in villages and towns, run by moderates (people from the main parties and other democratic means minded people) who deeply cares about the environment, you will get a good tool in this good cause and life saving improvements through leaning on the local councils (cycle lanes and traffic flow managments). More kids will grow up and not end their lives under some wheels. Everybody's happy.

The need for more cycle lanes, more kids growing up and cleaner air is shared by everyone.

Please refer to me as Xmegster from now on.

Thank you.
words get invented and some catch on. Some don't. Twat, for example, is your favourite. A word that used to mean forest clearing, then came to refer to a woman's genitals, and now means 'twit with added emphasis'. Or some such. Xerocracy may not be your cup of tea, but it has a meaning, it's understandable, although, interestingly, it's now completely overtaken by technology. You might not like new words, but you might, in the light of that, be a bit more particular about how you use old words.
