Never ask a woman if her hair is natural.
not only hair!!!
Never ask a woman if her hair is natural.
You have uranium!Never touch anything with your bare hand if it’s glowing.
On the subject of politeness
Can;t remember who - but either my Dad or one of the family friends once told me that my Mum had a method of dealing with rude people
She was unfailingly polite and pleasant to them
went out of her way to say a cheery "Good Morning" - compliment them on their hair/clothes etc
no matter how much the dismissed what she said and how much they ignored her - she was polite and cheerful
It drive them MAD trying to work out why!!
and it is a natural human reaction to respond when someone says a cheery "Good Morning"
and to do so in the same way
in other words - exactly the opposite of how they wanted to treat her
Over a period of time social pressure and expectations would force them to respond to the politeness and general niceness and eventually they would come round
and she would win
excellent long term view of the world!!
There was a meeting of pagan and similar groups in North Wales when I lived there
In order to be allowed to be part of the event any group/religion/etc had to subscribe to one simple concept
"First - do no harm"
apparently this is a common theme in pagan groups
seems like a good place to start
I knew a woman who had 'My life my rules' tattooed on her arm.

You buy cheap you buy twice
You buy cheap you buy twice
I've had to point this out to a manager more than once.
That sort of maxim is all well and good
but what if someone else has the same maxim and his rules say to grope every woman with tattoos
or whatever
maxims/motos that seem to ignore how this acts if other people don;t stick to it annoy me!!
there is something on the telly at the moment - I think it is Tracie Emin - where she says you need to ignore rules and do what feels right to you
which is what a lot of the people in jail lived by!!
fine in the way she means it - but the "do no harm" has to be first
I think you will find the philosopher, John Stuart Mill's, opinion was one should be allowed to do what one likes so long as one does not injure anyone else. That includes riding without a helmet.
