I am a BC Breeze leader helping ladies build up distance for an 100k ride later in the year and us leaders want to reward them with medals for their achievements. Can anyone recommend a medal supplier - we just need cheap and cheerful as we are investing in these from our own pockets
I have had a look around the interweb but your suggestions/recommendations would be very helpful. We have asked BC for some goodybags and awaiting a response!

Just pop into any high street antique shop and you'll be able to pick up stacks of old campaign medals for a song. They come with a good quality pin and a natty ribbon attached.

Our club uses a Trophy shop in Gravesend and medals start from a lowish price, but still would add up if you want a lot. Have you thought about getting some certificates printed off?

None of which any old Tom, Dick or Harry would be entitled to wear. It may even be illegal under The Armed Forces Act to do so.

I like the cut of your jib.

@Sharky We are doing certificates, but we like the idea of a medal too for a surprise . A few of the ladies were signed up to their first event which got cancelled so we are doing a similar route to replace it for them.

The Fridays has for several years awarded medals to Tour riders: they come from Running Imp which has always provided an excellent service.

they do two types of cycling medal. All medals come with a red, white and blue sash (this can be described either as the Dutch flag colours or the French flag colours, depending on which country you're in). You place the order with your 24 characters free engraving, and they arrive in a package at your house about a week or so later. The bill is sent by email and you pay after the medals arrive. We've never had any problems with them. Recommended. 89p a pop. Postage on top
Two points: you can order as many or as few as you like, but if four people sign up for a Tour at the last minute they won't get a medal unless you've taken a bit of a punt on numbers.
And you need to give the Tour/Event a name before your order the medals so make sure it doesn't have too long a name! This is why The Fridays Tours all have names and why those names are not too long, eg La Tourette, The Easyrider, Le Sightseer*.

*This does not necessarily mean there'll be medals in future, for any Fridays reading this. They're supposed to be a surprise.....
