Christmas has come early for Geddy. He keeps stealing the cleaning cloth out the bathroom and running off with it. I just given him a brand new cloth to play with and hes chuffed to bits.

Geddy is a clever sod. A moments distraction and he was up on the dining room chair, onto the table, and stole a bowl of Mrs D's pasta dish. We were only alerted by the sound of the bowl being knocked on the floor.

I saw a lovely clip on the internet of someone playing dead to see how his dog would react. The dog reacted instantly by snaffling the bloke's sandwich

I got out of bed this morning. A short while later returned from the bathroom to find cheeky boy had made himself comfortable.

A lad I grew up with used to have a Basset Hound - or his parenst did
When he was unwell my friend's Grandad stayed with them for a few months

Now my friend was a Policeman - so got up at varying time of the day. His Grandad was often up early and would make himself breakfast.
SO my friend comes down one morning and peaks round the door - just in time to see his grandad coming in with a plate of toast
The dog was CLEARLY totally asleep
His Grandad put the plate down and went back into the kitchen to get his cuppa
as soon as he was out the dog immediately got up - which is complicated with a dog that long and short - sot over to the plate and nicked the toast
By teh time his Grandad came back in - a few seconds later - the plate was empty and the dog had CLEARLY been asleep the whole time

He watched this happen 3 times before he decided to intervene

The poor old man was a bit confused - but was thinking he was much worse than he really was because he kept forgetting things in the mornings

The Basset was the greatest food thief I have ever seen - only my friend and I could make him behave - even his official owners had stuff nicked from under their noses!!
He could also open the fridge - even when the turned the door round to stop him

Brilliant dog!

My old Lemmy was a terrible food theft. He would steal sandwiches from the hands of the unwary.

On one occasion we had a friend round for dinner and when his head was turned Lemmy leaped up like a great white shark attacking and stole the dinner from my friends plate in one gulp.

Bruce is quite well behaved, he knows that good food things come to good boys who wait, but Geddy is shaping up to be a good crazed loon like his great uncle Lemmy.
