I was initially taking the same stance with this whole thing as you guys, then I got thinking...

I have just finished installing spy cams in every room so I can catch the cheating cow!! ;);)

I wouldn't class the type of beings that cheat as men (or women).

I've never cheated though I have been cheated on. I have also been wrongly accused of cheating, not because there was any doubt or concern but just because 'that is what men do'.

Sadly, there is such a strong message, from tv soaps and the media, that cheating happens all the time that it becomes accepted as the norm.

Anyway, there is no chance of me ever cheating or being cheated on, not planning on having anyone in my life for that to happen.

Sorry to hear that NT I truly am, never say never though..... I have been cheated on (and in previous younger more stupid relationships cheated) and it is a terrible thing to do...

But to find someone and be really happy you have to take that gamble of trust and open yourself.

It's more of a reverse psycology thing. If I give up on it ever happening I will get asked out by someone gorgeous.;)

I do the trust thing over and over, no problem with that, and have decided that just because a few people are untrustworth I shouldn't tar everyone else with the same brush.
Besides, I figure that I am such a nice guy that if any woman cheats on me then I dump her and it is her loss, my gain and the other poor sod is welcome to her.;)

Ha ha... I was concerned that this thread had hit a raw nerve and you were close to embarking on a killing spree...

Glad to know its just a cunning plan to lure gorgeous women into your life! ;)

That's terrible! Cheating is bad enough but going as far as trying for babies with both women is absolutely despicable.

As mentioned already, soaps and TV in general portray adultery as the norm - and it is to some people. This is the reason I prefer to stay single, life is simple this way. ;)

speaking as a woman I find it very hard to believe you would not know if your man was straying.

Dangerous words. We have a friend who's husband had a mistress for ten years without her knowing! The only reason she found out was that he decided to leave her and just told her about it. Staggering.

What made it worse, if that were possible, was that some of their close mutual friends knew about his affair and said nothing.

I was thinking about the difference between men and women a while ago, the bible describes them quite differently and references things back to Adam and Eve. I looked at that and it dawned on me what the difference is, well one difference.

Women tend to want to feel that they're doing the right thing. For them to do the wrong thing they have to twist the truth to justify it, convince themselves that the wrong thing is actually the right thing to do. Men understand fine well that what they are doing is wrong but just do it anyway! That's why men can never figure out women and women think men are b*******!

Hey, guess what? When my wife and I decided we wanted to spend our lives together we stood up in front of all our families and friends and swore that we would foresake alll others 'til death did us part. It's part of this old-fashioned thing called MARRIAGE, which nonbody has mentioned in over 2 pages of this thread.

Having sworn that oath in front of my family and friends I don't have any intention of breaking my word as I still believe in my word being worth something.

Old-fashioned, I know, but it ain't half good for our growing son to know his Mum and Dad aren't going to separate, despite life's ups and downs.

I love this post.

Now watch in the media, soaps, celebs etc, and see how 'normal' (I mean prelevant) dysfunctional and split relationships are.

Do you?

You don't have to watch/blame soaps, celebs or the media just hang around in the school playground of a morning.

EDIT: To talk to the parents and see how many are single/divorced families
