Hello- I have inherited a Mercian bike from my late father, who as far as I can remember had the bike made for him. The bike was well used and much loved- he had three bikes, which were used for different purposes- not sure if this was used for touring or for everyday riding.

The bike hasn’t been used for around three years, and needs a new home, so am looking for advice as to where and how it should be advertised , or to see if anybody in this Group would be interested in buying it.

I have attached photos.

Mercians are well regarded and much sought after. You could advertise it on here if you want.
For an idea of value look on eBay or Gumtree to see what they go for.
State the size, usually the seat tube from the centre of the bb (chain wheel) to the top of the tube. It looks to be about 22.5". Put a disclaimer on the mechanical condition.

Have a look at the Mercian website to get an idea of what new Mercians cost.

I had a Mercian track frame, which I bought for £8 (2nd hand) in 1968. Rode and raced on it off and on for about 40 years and sold the frame for £50, still in good condition.

That's a lovely looking bike, unfortunately it looks too big for me.

Interesting, I'm looking for a 22.5" Mercian, especially if it's 22.5" top tube and seat tube.
