Is there anyone on this site who wold have the specialist knowledge to help me. I have inherited a Mercian campagnolo 1981 can anyone tel me roughly how much it is worth so I can advertise it on E BAY THANK'S

I used to have a Mercian and gave it to a friend! But he was a good friend. The thing is there no such animal as a standard Mercian. Mine was made from 531c tubing and forks and had an odd mix of components. You will have to say what frame you have and what components. If poss it is best to post a pic and then people will have a better idea. The only prob is that you can't until you post some more topics or answers. Best put up a link to a photo sharing website.

I was having a look and they are bringing very decent money on ebay, some rarer ones are up to 1k for frame alone so anything from £250 for a frame in need of full renovation is a good start

Go to ebay, click on 'Advanced search', put Mercian in the search box, then go down and click 'completed listings' - that will bring up a list of ones that have sold recently. Just scroll through and find one that's as close as possible to the one you have, and see what it went for. That, roughly speaking, is what it's worth.

@michael bowers pics and some spec would help but they can fetch good money are you sure its a genuine Mercian ( please dont take offence by that)

Mercian can give full original build spec on most frame numbers for a small fee

Thank's for all the replies the no on the frame is a number 3 above 15281 (found hard stamped on the underside of the bike)

That's the best reason to ride it! There have been many heavier on here who have taken it up.

FYI - I'm 6' 5" and currently 17.5 stones, (have been nearer 20!), and I've owned and ridden loads of road bikes, both new and 'vintage', just saying
