Merida Pro brakes vs 105 5800 Calipers

Hi all, do people know if I would see a marked brake performance increase if I change the stock Merida callipers with 105 5800 ones?

Also if I went down this route, how easy is it to change over and setup the replacement callipers for a complete novice.

Dead easy to change over but you might try some different blocks first off.

I don't think you'll notice any difference. The rim brakes on the Merida Ride 400 are pretty good.

ok cheers guys, I will try some different blocks first, the stopping power on these is worse than the old campy veloce on the Ribble.

Sorry to be a pain, have I fitted these in the correct positions please?

The Tektro blocks looked different but had an arrow pointing forward.

They look ok from what I can see. Just make sure no part of the blocks are rubbing on the tyres.

You can also get longer pads 70mm as opposed to 55mm that you have fitted.
I've found them to give a better more modulated braking experience.
