Was given this today by @iateyoubutler .
It's currently in kit form.
Thinking so far is to follow @iateyoubutler 's lead and not go for the singlespeed conversion. It's a 2014 model so far as I can tell, which gives it a 44-32-22 chainset and originally an 11-32 cassette. I'll go for a 12-36...
Free to anybody who can collect it - I`m only keeping it until Saturday then it`s off to the tip.....
I bought it not long ago from a local (ish) shop as a trade in, with the intention of using it for winter commuting. The transmission was shot so I decided to do a singlespeed conversion on it...

Hi all, do people know if I would see a marked brake performance increase if I change the stock Merida callipers with 105 5800 ones?
Also if I went down this route, how easy is it to change over and setup the replacement callipers for a complete novice.
As per title. I saw this and think it should be my latest addition to the n+1 collection. Does anyone own one (or another reacto in the range) and what is your opinion of it?
Any other recommendations for similar bikes?
Thanks in advance.
I've been commuting for the last 7-8 years on a Scott Sportster p3 which is a hyrbid. Been servicing and replacing parts regularly as they have worn out but got to the stage where it needs approx £200-250 on parts/labour so I'm considering replacing it with something newer.
I've seen this...
My brother in law had his new beauty stolen early hours of the morning today. They broke the lock off the shed and then cut the locks off the bike.
Clearly knew what they were after as left a trek madone discovery Channel and a trek aluminium.
The Merida is ultegra di2 and had only done about...
Built in early 2016 on a 2014 frameset with a new Cane Creek headset in February: it's 18 speed and all of the parts apart from wheels and brakes were new. I've covered less than 250 miles on the Merida since built and it's never been off the road/path. There are a few minor stone chips, mainly...
Up for sale is my brand new merdia reacto 400 Road bike.
This bike was purchased about 2 months ago and still holds manufacturers warranty.
I have never used the bike and any potential buyers will see that. I have had a complete change of heart with road cycling (last year I completed coast 2...
Bought by me to be used mainly as a winter bike, however it didn't get used as such. It's probably had 3/4 road rides and a couple over the fields. I just prefer my road bike for the road and my mountain bike for off road. An ill considered purchase really.
I've had for about 6 months and if...
This was my best “summer bike”. Never seen salty roads, always cleaned after every ride and very well looked after. I love this bike but made the mistake of not getting proper advice when I purchased it, unfortunately it is slightly too long in the top tube for me. For sale as I have now...
In 2012 I bought a Merida Race Lite 904 as my first road bike and really enjoyed riding it over the past few years but, just after Christmas 2015 but before this year I rode a full carbon bike (Specialized) and enjoyed the quickness and more comfortable ride. I decided I would like an upgrade...
