I had to replace a spoke on my rear wheel. As the wheel slightly changed shape and spokes their tension, I came across 2 small pieces of metal inside the rim. Those bits came loose during truing the wheel. The noise started driving me nuts.
I've finished truing the wheel and everything is working fine. I managed to remove the metal bits and took a picture of them. See picture
I've read that metal pieces inside rim is common but what is it for? where does it come from?
