I'm in the mixed up bunch, height weight and long distance in imperial, but below a mile I think in meters.
I've tried to convert to metric for baking and will do new recipes in grams but old favourites that I know the recipe are still in ounces. My old scales had the button on the base, the new one has it on the top so I can flip more easily.

I was brought up on imperial, metric just confuses the issue, I have a rough idea what a foot or an inch is, meter's, centimeters and millimeters are meaningless.

Can do both. Was taught metric in school and imperial at home by my dad.
Science generally uses metric. And I use metric in work ( engineering/ construction)
When measuring something at home I use whatever unit works easiest.
Learning imperial sizes helped me with fractions in school brilliantly.

Perhaps we should be asking our General Election candidates their stance on metrication. Do they want the UK to accept it wholly or reject it, or just sit on the fence of partial acceptance for another fifty years.

There is as I understand it a metric unit for liquid, in particular, flammable liquid.
This is the pound.
When filling up with fuel no one ever knows how many gallons or litres they bought,

I only ever deal in Plank units - any system of measurement which isn't defined exclusively in terms of universal physical constants makes no sense to me...
