Hello! Just thought I'd say hey!

I have what I believe to be a decent bike, and am looking to start riding my local bike trails... maybe more.

I am interested to see what trail-riders and bike-packers my age are riding.

Hello and welcome, Probably if its anything like here then all sorts of bikes, from cheap and cheerful to very expensive.

Allsorts really, from posh gravel tourers to old steel MTBs my own is an old Raleigh Outlander rigid MTB much uprated with mainly Deore components and 3x7 trigger shifters on ally bars. It also has a Topeak rack which will accept the slide to lock top bags or/and my big Carradice panniers.

How serious, Antur Stiniog or Bike Park Wales ? First one is guaranteed death, second one, near a big hospital.

Many of us do a bit of everything. Commuting, road bikes, MTB's and a bit of back packing - just dipped my toe in it a few weeks ago, except it wasn't a dip. Four days of off road bike packing, with 8 hour days of riding - it wasn't leisurely.

Grateful for all the responses!

There are lots of low-impact trails in my areas, plus scenic neighborhoods. I need to slow down with some chill-out time, as life has ratcheted up the stress level this year.
