Miles per dog-hour

Given that 1 human year = 7 dog years
1 human hour = 7 dog hours
3 miles in 1 human hour = 3 miles in 1/7 hr = 8mins 34 seconds = 21 miles/dog-hour
At full speed, dogs can run at 15 miles/human hour = 105 miles/dog-hour

This all seems a bit hinky. Is there a unit of dog-mile or dog-metre?

My dog has been through timing lights at a smidgette over 41mph. How fast is he in 'human mph' then?

Dog hours are the same as human hours - 1/24 the rotation of the planet (give or take)

A human yard is about the same length as a human pace. Dog yards are a problem. A sausage dog has considerably shorter legs than a greyhound.

I've heard those throwy-ball-sticks that are very popular aren't good for dogs as it's throwing it outside the range it is comfortable to deal with (ie track, catch and return) - though I daresay the breed has some influence on that.

If i could pace mine from door to sofa then i reckon they would be clocked even faster than that
Ah but you have a greyhound they are as fast as a Saluki. Top end around 43.5. My Saluki is very small for his breed. Only 23 TTS

The youngest came in the house a bit faster than usual a couple of days ago and missed the turn, slammed all on, on the rug, which ruffled up againat her front legs and she stopped just as her nose touched the telly. A real cartoon moment but i think were both cacking it:ohmy:
