Have to admit to have never eaten it! Is it like a panettone with marzipan in it?
No ^_^

I’m a bit behind this year - by now I have usually done a test bake of most things we will have for Christmas. In the past this has included panettone, babka, stollen, baci di dama, ricciarelli, brutti ma buoni, macarons, Lebkuchen, panforte and, of course, mince pies.

This year will probably repeat the chocolate babka of previous years (it’s our Christmas centrepiece cake since nobody but I likes traditional Christmas cake) and the ricciarelli and Lebkuchen may make a comeback.

For mince pies I make my own pastry but use bought mincemeat. I have to also make jam tarts as, once again, mince pies aren’t universally liked.

Nothing like a good stollen:

…but finding a good stollen is hard, and often expensive.

Love a good bit of Stollen - any recommendations?
