Mmmmmm, if we're talking about savoury food as opposed to sweet, then I'll 'fess up to having 300g of homemade gravlax sitting in the frigo. Still not dipped into it.

I *have* dipped into my homemade smoked salmon pate and my homemade chicken liver & cranberry pate. :mrpig:

Now on the to do list .
When I was lad I loved apple pie with cheese , especially White Stilton, but never thought of having it with mince pies .

I dare say it'd cut through the sweetness some. Might give it a go too, given it's not like I haven't enough cheese in the house!

Will be making the dough for Lukken (boter galetten) tomorrow, ready to bake on NYD. It's *tradition*

I can’t take much more, had acid since Xmas day. Usually a small glass of milk corrects this but it’s not working now. Then sometimes an itchy bum hole. Done loads of smart training but still put on a few pounds.
I’ll be glad to stop the rich foods & drinking. Need to get back onto wedges, egg & beans & Yorkshire tea asap.

I have tried it and it works well with a quite mature cheddar but needs a younger, hard white cheese , probably.

Christmas cake is eaten in West Yorkshire with white cheese usually a Wensledale.

Absolutely, I have made a special trip to Hawes for Wensleydale, any excuse for a nice ride. I seek out cafes that offer year round cheese with fruit cake on rides as it’s rocket fuel.

On a side note the radio 4 food program have great podcast on Wensleydale cheese. It has a really interesting history , it was saved from dying out my one man who worked on the dalesman. He set about building up an archive of oral history of farm wives who remember making it. Along with collecting archive news reports , writings of the time and recipes.
