PS it's not going to snow, blame the guy in Decathlon last night who bought a sledge.

Seems like there are several of us hoping that it will properly snow! I want to go for a hack around our local reservoir if it snows!
Weather update: It has started snowing here again and some of those flakes are BIG flakes of snow...
hope it does not snow too hard until my OH is home - he went to work on his road bike with normal tyres, but cycled major roads (A49 almost door to door) so should be OK...)

I think you may be too far north - looks like Wales is going to get a lot of snow. They have a rare red alert accoridng ot the weather site.
But the BBC weather has updated its forecaste for tomorrow for me and is now saying I won't get any snow and more to the point I am not meant to be getting any now either!

I just deleted the pics off my Gopro or i would show you how deep our snow drifts are. We are in a heat wave,It is headed to zero Celsius today and that is not a good thing. This is the first time we have dealt with temps above freezing since October. I would rather deal with -20 and no ice or moisture as compared to 0 and snow and ice. I dont have my spikes installed so the ride is going to be very dicey.

I guess it depends on what 'light snow' is defined as......

+1
A few years back it was a lot colder but as we did not have much snow after the initial fall the roads were a lot safer , this winter it seems we had all the floods which are still leaving very dicey conditions that have just left massive sections of sheet ice in some parts.

I am riding in on the MTB tomorrow. Once it starts (about 11am) it's not forecast to relant much, until about Monday night! Doubt it will be heavy but it could be a nightmare getting home tomorrow if it freezes and you're on a road bike with slicks...

-8deg C according to the met this morning but its only -1deg C now felt completely overdressed on the sort commute back to the flat. Its probably a sign of the impending snow!

Crock, I'm on 23mm tyres up the road in Peterborough and they coped fine with the snow at the start of the week and the 23mm tyres on my Kinesis have coped well with more snow up north. IMO its a question of how comfortable you are with it, as locking up is no good, just relax, free wheel up to things and brake less (and when you do use the rear more) and lean less and turn less sharply and you'll be fine.
