Before turning right or doing the u turn, it also turned left for around 30 miles, at the same time as the climb, which also could point to a struggle in the cockpit.

I really feel for all on board, and for the families on the ground not knowing what has happened, its easy for us to speculate and draw our own conclusions, but lets spare a thought for those involved, its something I wouldn't want to have to go through.

If shots were fired and the planes fuselage was holed, there is a strong possibility and the cabin door could have been shut or closed with the vacuum, then it could have flown on its own until it simply ran out of fuel, but it did turn towards the Indian ocean which would suggest someone was flying the aircraft otherwise the auto pilot would have made adjustments and put the plane back on its original course.

If it was hijacked and on autopilot, someone must have been conscious to type in the co ordinates

7.5 hours of fuel, how far could it fly with that amount, also if it did make it down, where, as I have read somewhere it would need a runway of 1.5 mile to land, which would rule out most places a hijacker would want to land, that is if it hasn't ran out of fuel over the ocean

I was reading earlier that investigators are compiling a list of every single landing strip that is long enough for a landing, and within range. Must be quite some list!

Not really, I looked myself after they said that it was heading towards the Andaman islands, and only found one, now its been found out it had over 7 hours of flying time, it could have safely landed in hundreds of areas, from airports to unmanned airstrips, it could be anywhere.....................but I think the US know where it is

Just out of interest, is there still an embargo on selling Boeing parts to Iran. Last I heard, Iran had to rely on black market spares for the Boeings they have, meaning that they are exposed to the risk of spares with unknown histories. That and the sub-standard maintenance supposedly explains the number of Iranian airliners that have crashed.

the pilot... being as bit of an aviation nut, got bored of only having a flight simulator... has nicked the plane and is hiding it on Tracey Island until something else 'big' happens and the world's news outlets turn their eyes elsewhere... then he'll just fly where he wants, when he wants in a real plane.
