"He has now promised his mother he will not travel again until he is 18, can drive a car, and has told her where he is going."

Oh great, now he'll only go awol once he can drive...

I'm glad he's ok, but what's driving a car got to do with it?

Nice to see his compulsory helmet fitted so well, too...

will he be allowed to drive, if he's, well, you know?

Suffering from Aspergers? I would imagine so, since they seem to be saying it's slight. Frankly, many drivers appear to manage without any social interaction anyway.

aspergers, yes, that's probably a better term.

Well, as it's correct, yes, of course it's better. Better than what, anyway? What were you going to say?

It might surprise you to know that most people with Aspergers are actually very good drivers...they're so into rules and regulations that they tend to drive way more safely than most of us. I know I'm generalising but I know quite a few people with Aspergers, and I know that they will never drink anything and drive, they won't speed, and they will obey all traffic signs however irrelevant, and irritating to everyone around them.
(To the point that the one who drove me to hospital (friend) at 4.am whilst in labour refused to go over 40mph...and ignored all my requests to get a ****ing move on.:?:.)

As to this lad though..who knows..he doesn't seem to be aspie enough to conform to that, in that he broke lots of rules in the first place!

My word, yes; but your thought!

Oh right, I get it. So now not only am I not allowed to use the term 'mental', I'm not even allowed to THINK the term 'mental'.
And I presume there's not much point in me asking whether MY opinion on whether I was thinking of the term 'mental' has any bearing on whether I'm guilty of it or not?
