Hi all
Is anyone know of any mobile mechanics who work the route between St augustas coryairack..Loch laggan ..Loch rannoch...killin
The places before/after we will be able to locate a shop in those areas
Thanks all

Can't help with your query - just wanted to say that if you do the ride, please post it somewhere in the forum with photos.

I saw a BBC ALBA (one word, three syllables) programme fairly recently - "Ramsey's Walks" (or something like that) where he interviewed a young woman who'd cycled the Badger Divide from Inverness to Glasgow in something like 19 hours ... phenomenal.

Good luck

I saw a BBC ALBA (one word, three syllables)

It only used to have 2 syllables, AL-BA... Then some trendies came along and decided it needed to be pronounced as if there was another A in the middle. No idea why. So being stubborn, I make a point of pronouncing it the old traditional way.

As for the OP, sorry can't help. But good luck finding ANY kind of bike mechanic up there! You're going to need one with a helicopter, which might be costly. Killin has a bike shop IIRC, but after that there's not much.

We have done a little asking about
The 1st calls were to the bike shops in towns most had nobody to do a mobile repair and one shop said they could provide a mechanic but only as a guide as well so paying him all day along with his accommodation
We tried a few cycle clubs to see if any of there members were decent home mechanics who could possibly help out just in case
We obviously pay them if a on route repair was needed
Just a case of covering all options due to health safety etc and no harm in asking
We will have spares etc and a couple are decent home mechanics to at least hopefully keeping the group mobile
Looking frd to it anyways

That's a pretty remote stretch. You're better off calling shops directly in Killin or Kenmore once you're closer. They usually know a local guy who will travel. Don't expect anyone to come out from the cities for that route.

We contacted shops either side of the remoteness ...with no luck
We guessed nobody would do this on a regular basis either
Thought it be worth asking here anyways as its a common route and other groups may also benefit if they had a mobile contact fir " back up " if needed

Got it. Most places out here don’t offer backup services, but asking around locally when you arrive might turn up someone who can help.

Yes that's worth a shout as we pass by
You never know..few weeks ago they couldn't help
By the time we set off maybe there circumstances change or some mechanic popped into a shop to ask them to advertise he has went " mobile "
All adds to the adventure
Thanks
