Morning from sunny Jockland

It's bright and clear and cool with no wind.
The DW's are off today again. Sigh. That's about 4 Mondays in the past weeks.

Extra coffee.

It is indeed sunny, bit of wispy white stuff up high. I will venture outside soon to ascertain what if any damage protection was afforded to my greenhouse pet succulents by the fleecing to combat the 1C overnight temps. Repeat incoming tonight.

Last overnight pirate patch sesh completed. To do: some rotavating of garden beds; I found the safety goggles for dust in the eye avoidance so no worries eh?

Chilled start after Sunday pub crawl.

In the hot tub with a cuppa, need to pack and try my new race vest ready for next weekend.

My final year undergraduate students finish a one-week exam at 12.00 today, so no Bank Holiday for me. I've worked most of the weekend as well.

Those who've left starting until the last minute are probably feeling the pressure in the op's title. The door slams shut at 12.00 ...

Will have to wait for the rain to stop before riding this afternoon. Lazy morning as managed to do most of the stuff on the list yesterday. Hounds are hibernating currently.

Morning
Currently sunny here but soaking wet and there are a lot of dark clouds looming. So any cycling will have to be done later which is no bad thing as I’m feeling a bit jaded after last nights pub quiz.

Turns out that the instruction "Please make sure you return the monitor before 6pm on Monday at the latest" didn't account for the Bank Holiday. But as it was much sunnier than forecast, instead the monitor had a very pleasant & breezy 20-mile ride in my jersey pocket.

Aldi done on the way home, disappointingly they don't stock pudding rice to use up the fully skimmed milk I previously bought by mistake. (I mean just what it the point of it?)

Warm, breezy day. Did very little thanks to Old Crock Syndrome. A friend has started off this week on (another) epic, luxury cycling tour holiday, which has me wondering if I'd ever be capable of that kind of effort again, never mind the budget issue! 2500km over 30 days. There's another one scheduled for next year from London to Rome I'd love to do. Better start training I guess.
