Monsal trail and closure.

Hospital appointment at 0800hrs this morning in Sheffield …. 0900hrs setting off heading west on the Monsal Trail. 👍 A few miles in we hit the diversion, huge rock has fallen onto the trail and clearing up has been a Mon - Fri work package for a while. There is a diversion…but … it’s steep, narrow, slippy … did I mention steep ? Also we were told it was becoming a 7day repair very soon.
After gingerly traversing the route in cleats we were off on the trail …turned at the quarry and returned …via the diversion !! …..a great morning ride… the diversion possibly added to the trip …

Oof. Did you get any pics of the rock or is it not visible?

The rock cannot be seen, I believe it has been broken up and a section 450 metres long is fenced off with heavy plant in use on the trail stabilising the cutting walls.
