I watched a French GCN episode yesterday and the presenter was going to ride two bikes up to Chalet Renard on Mont Ventoux, a distance of 9.5 kms.
One bike was the 1990 bike that Pantani rode, and the other was a modern all carbon bike , to see which was the fastest.
Guess what? The Pantani bike was faster by 5 minutes!!.
So much for modern bikes then hey.
