That was on the radio yesterday I think! When I do go through there it is school time and you do get some stupid cyclists and rude ones. I've not seen anyone knocked down ever but I'm sure it does occasionally occur and certainly parents must worry about it happening.

I don't like the police raids and they only catch the really stupid ones as opposed to the not quite so stupid ones as like the speed cameras in yellow boxes they all wear their hi-vis. They ought to do a less obvious raid on the path.

My husband said why don't they use Strava to catch the ones doing silly speeds through there at the school start and end times at least.

I think it could be partially solved by building a bridge, wouldn't stop the speeding cyclists and I'd worry it might make it worse for those who walk along from other junctions, but it would mean that parents with buggies etc could get across on the level.

I fly down in the morning as it's silly am and there isn't a person about. On the way home I always take it easy. Goes for most of the journeys both ways. I have sat there at the crossing with a mate a few times and shouted at the idiots giving it full gas. The mums appreciated not all cyclists are nobbers.

I don't mind the detour at the end. I get off at Easton community centre and then go on the ring road and through old market. I may do that permanently as it's faster and no traffic at 6am. Only 7 days until tunnel day :wahhey:

I'm not entirely sure that 'strava' is evidence of speeding, I uploaded a ride I did on my folding bike and strava said I had sustained 45km/h along a section of the path, however in reality I had ridden a fairly slovenly 25km/h and stopped to take a photograph along the way...

Its some of the racing snakes on their full gas race into work however the worse riding I see is mainly commuters who don't seem to give a flying about anyone. There are a few that will kill someone soon and maybe they should leave a few minutes earlier as then they wouldn't be in such a hurry. The work will help but to be honest a wider path will probably mean more speeding as they feel even more confident.

The path is a victim of its own success and as we know shared paths have their issues but I just use common sense. This doesn't seem to be evident with a fair few of the path users be them cyclists, mums or dog walkers.

I must admit Strava does have some funny bits ... I've got one QOM which is apparently a huge climb .... the reason I take that route is to avoid a nearby hill!

I just stopped to have a good look at the work which is going on at the tunnel. There was only a surveyor there and nothing actually being done as seems to be the norm. I have emailed the council asking if they are still confident it will open in a week and if so shouldn't they be clearing away all of the building debris?

I had to open the path myself this morning where the new bridge is being constructed. All of the orange barriers had been knocked over by some so and so and the sand bags were also all over the path. I spent 5 minutes sorting it out for my fellow cyclists whilst a fox watched me.
