Exactly, you would think that a trained handler should be aware. Its not like there isn't enough publicity. The dogs trust have been campaigning about leaving dogs in cars this summer. The guy must feel terrible.

In my eyes this is worse than some clueless half wit doing it without realising the damage, as someone else has said they are trained handlers and would have been well aware of incidents like this in the past.

Its not as if this is the first summer a dog has died in a hot car is it? there is no excuse especially not for the rozzers! !

Grim story that and surprising as you'd think they'd know.

Oddly enough, my dogs only relief from the heat has been in the car. Aircon on full, point the vents to the back, he sticks his head over the back seat and within a few minutes he's stopped panting. I wouldn't dream of leaving him in if I stopped though, beggars belief that.
