I was just about to open a similar thread. I only did a 52 mile early morning run, but saw individuals and large groups everywhere. Just for a change, nearly all of them were struggling up hills while I was bombing down them.

I was in your stomping ground today, Patrick. I was out very early, the Ponderosa was heaving with (motor)bikes, but not many cyclists. In fact I was the only one there at 09:20ish.

:blush::blush: I wimped out of the big stuff and went for a potter round Bangor on Dee (some huge fish camped on the gravel beds) out to Malpas, Chester and back via Ridleywood. The route was carefully planned to avoid hills.

I can understand why you'd plan such a route if you live in the thick of it  First go up Worlds End today, bloody 'ell!

Dave.
