more gears needed

right ,im using my ss for commuting ,but tbh theres one wee section i could do with more gears ,im not looking for a full derailluer set up ,so i was thinking a internal geared hub (sturmey archer or something ) ,so ,,can i have my existing rim relaced with this kinda hub and use this assuming its the same spoke count (36 in this case )theres one on ebay ,would it fit

No idea Jim but with my Viking SS the addition of simple cleats gave me that extra gear, and when things wear out I'll lighten it a bit too Wheels/tyres and maybe other parts. What won't wear out which I tempted to change are the bars, they are a bit wide for narrow me.

there are some 2 speed sturmey archer hubs about but not sure how suitable they would be for your use

How about going for a lower geared single speed and then when you can easily master the climb on that, increase it back to where you were?
