More Mile Gear?

I have a reasonable knowledge outdoor gear, mainly mountain related and paddle sport. I understand the principals of layering and the importance of breathable/ wick-able fabrics etc. where possible, I always follow the "buy cheap, buy twice" ethos and have spent fortunes over the years.
I've just bought a new bike and associated gear.Finances are tighter now, what with exorbitant nursery fees etc, so I'm trying to build up my kit on a bit of a budget, while still looking for half decent quality/ brands.
Being a cycle novice, I have little knowledge of decent clothing brands or discount stockists. I was in Newcastle today (Start Cycles) and came across More Mile gear. The odds and sods I looked at appeared to be well manufactured with decent fabric and reasonably priced too. The fact that I can try it on before buying, as opposed to the mail order lottery is a real positive from my perspective. I'm guessing it's not top of the range gear but would really appreciate people's views on this gear, with regard to quality/ value for money.

I just picked up a More Mile compression top for £10 in TK Maxx and seems pretty well made. Only used it once so far but no problems with it.

TK Maxx? I didn't think for one minute they'd sell sports gear. I'll be having a nose in there soon.

I hate to say it because I don't like the place, but when I've been dragged into TK Maxx in the past a few times I've managed to find some decent technical tops at amazingly cheap prices. There always seems to be something slightly wrong with everything they sell but with tops I've not found anything significant thats bothered me. Very hit and miss as to whether they have anything my size in that I like though.

you would be better off buying quality well known brands on the cheap online - I recently bought a Helly Hansen Merino baselayer from Evans Cycles online reduced from £65 to £20 with free delivery too - I also got some winter bib tights reduced from £150 to £45.
Buy winter gear in the middle of summer, and summer gear in the middle of winter - you always get great deals that way

Not a fan either as bit of a glorified jumble sale at times but have often found a bargain in there.

Gone in to look for some outdoor gear as off to the Lakes on Saturday. Didn't find anything that I fancied but couldn't pass up on that for a tenner.

I will admit, I do use Inov-8 shoes for fell-races though, as the soles are more flexible/compliant with the ground
