A change from the usual scams, although that's what I thought it was at first. Yesterday I received around 20 emails, all supposedly containing my member points statement from a bunch of assorted hotels.
Only problem was that I'd never heard of any of them, but apart from that the emails looked genuine and didn't appear to contain any dodgy links or obvious phishing.
Then, a couple of hours later, came this:
"Inspire Loyalty are the programme provider and data processor for a variety of independent hotel companies in the UK. Your email address is registered on our database as an existing or previous member of a hotel programme which we represent.
This afternoon
we emailed loyalty statements for all hotel clients we represent to our entire member database, instead of the specific hotel you registered in the past or present. Therefore you have received email statements from other hotels we represent which were not relevant to you. We understand this experience may have caused concern to the security of your data but please be assured your information is only stored by us and today's email communication was a administrative error. We assure your information is still secure.
