You should come and live over this way- we rarely get any snow- only had a few flakes so far this year. It always slides down to the East of us or through the Midlands. Shame for me as I love the stuff!

You are more then welcome to help yourself to any snow that happens to fall in my neck of the woods Glow Worm. I would be happy if I was never to see snow again.

 Havent cycled in 2 weeks.

First the snow... then the compacted stuff stayed for a couple of days. Then I was sick early last week, one day in at work (got up and ice on the road so took bus and jogged home the 6 miles).. and then today ice on the road again. Its those early 6am roads.. I 'spose they thaw out by 8, but I'm at work by then.

I miss cycling.

I'll be down to fill the panniers and import some into East Anglia later in the week then!!
Just looked at the Met Office forecast and it looks like you should be OK though, most of the snow's heading for the North and North West. (Missing Newmarket yet again....sigh...). Some incredibly cold nights ahead for sure though.

Good to see loads of cyclists in London today.

That mix of oily, black, wet, muddy, dirty, London slime that sticks to the bike is horrible though. And it dried as well during the day! Have to give the bike a proper clean on Saturday.

PS - It's not really going to snow tomorrow is it? My last commute for about three weeks, that will be.

My bike and cycling shoes were/are covered in it today.. bloody stuff...

Yeah, but what's the point in getting sober, when you're gonna get drunk again...?

wash it off once a week (sunday lunchtime) just after I abuse the bike in epping forest. gives me chance to go to a Bike shop and buy replacements for the things I have broke ;)

Yeah, but what's the point in getting sober, when you're gonna get drunk again...?

We got a little rain the other night, just enough to loosen the black grit, salt and molasses gunge but not enough to wash it into the gutters. I got a puncture and decided that the bike was so filthy it wasn't worth doing a roadside fix. I walked home, fixed the flat and cleaned the bike off.

And it's now spitting again, just enough to loosen it all up again and my sparkly clean drive train is going to end up exactly as it was 2 days ago. So, yes, no point getting clean when you're going to get dirty immediately afterwards...grrr!

2 1/4 bike miles in 2 weeks. Now it's coming back  and not only in the SE.

All I want is a downpour to clean the roads and a few weeks of dryish weather at >0deg C so I can do some riding. I feel sluggish and grotty with too little exercise.
