Morrissey's book...

...is rather well written, so far. I'm enjoying it.
I wasn't always a fan of the Smiths or himself solo, but latterly I have found myself getting quite interested in some of their/his stuff.
Anyone who writes lines like "spending warm summer days indoors, writing frightening verse to a buck-toothed girl in Luxembourg" will always get my attention!

Regardless of what you think of him, it's surely more than a bit bizarre to launch anything as a 'classic'. Surely a classic is, whatever else, something that's stood the test of time.

A good marketing ploy, though, I guess. However, the writing itself is excellent, whatever one's feelings about the Smiths/Morrissey's music, image etc. I'm only about 1/4 the way through it, but I'm really looking forward to reading the rest!

I saw him and his pop combo playing outside the County Hall when Dear Ken had his "End of GLC" party.

As I recall, the gentleman in question had the bough of a deciduous tree poking out of the waistband of his trousers while he sang...

I say "sang", really, it was just some mumbling and grumbling while he danced.

I say "danced".... Now where are my pipe and slippers?

But seriously, he did seem jolly cross about a lot of things and was very popular in the JRC when I later packed up work and got myself some education.

Isn't it funny that Bernard Manning sings them all in the same indistinguishable way whereas Morrisey, oh hang on...

I don't like Morrisey's noise, which is everything he has produced. No other public figure has incurred my distain as much him. He has the sort face I would like to smack with an inner tube, I don't why, I abhor violence, but for him I would make an exception.
