Getting out can be tricky. But once your out it is ALWAYS worth it.

Not for me. Before I gave up regular winter ridng, there were times when I'd be caught out in the cold and wet and I'd stop by the road side, think about things, and nearly start crying. I will happily cycle in freezing temps as long as I am confident it won't rain, I'll enjoy it too, but cold & wet? Forget it. ^_^

3 things seem to unmotivate me really, poor form, poor weather, and poor company (people to ride with)

I had the full house last weekend, and it really knocked me for six!
Again, going back to my darkest days, I was far too wrapped up in "form", in particular what other thought of my riding. I ride to commute, so company isn't an issue, but leisure riding is better shared. That doesn't mean I don't go out on my own, especially on the MTB, but I have learned that no one actually cares about my performance, and I'm happy now to shrug off the feeling that I'm not measuring up, and get on and enjoy the ride.

the one thing that demotivates me day after day is knowing that I will spend the thirty mins to an hour of any ride struggling with my asthma. Somehow I find that unbelievably demoralising and so my motivation takes a nose dive, despite the fact I know I have to stay very fit to keep my asthma under control.
So assuming my asthma is not playing up (and it is playing up badly at the moment) I have no issues in getting out, no matter what the weather is doing. When it is playing up, then I only ride my 'commutes' and keep them to as short as possible.
