So any truth that Horner is having talks with Aston Martin do we reckon ?

Who knows. Despite the rumours he and Newey are supposedly still quite tight. But I don't think we'll really know until something happens, if it ever does.

I cant say Im a huge fan, but he was brilliant at bringing Tango Walt down a peg or two, and his witty rejoinders made on the fly were often very entertaining. Walt doesnt like anyone who is prepared to question him, stand up to him, or - heavens forbid - actually beat his team, so I did enjoy watching him get more and more wound up while Horny generally remained fairly chilled and affable.

Batman needs the Joker. Ken Barlow needed Mike Baldwin. Wolves needs Horny. When the on track adtion was dull those two would keep us well entertained.

I've never taken to Horner, and with regards to making terrible driver decisions, I think he is head and shoulders above virtually everyone else.

How much did it cost them to get Perez out after giving him a TWO year contract extension - mind boggling.
And that's before we look at the Yuki or Lawson debacle.

Hadjar appears to be the real deal, and or perhaps it's the fact it's a totally different car, we'll never know.

I think Alpine is his target but daddy Stroll might be considering an exit strategy if AM and Honda don't get their sheep together.

I'm not an Alonso far as such, but wow I do feel sorry for him having the nastiest de ja vu moment taking him back 11 years.
I'd be surprised if he continued next year if there is no definitive upwards trajectory/light at the end of the tunnel.

Re Alpine and bl00dy Briatore, who shouldn't even be in motorsport, I knew from the past what a wrongun he was, but having watched a couple of the DTS programs, he does indeed cement my opinion of him as a ruthless nasty piece of work.
Unnecessary behaviour which should not be tolerated imho.

How or why his lifetime ban got overturned I do not know - shocking.

Probably quite a good home for Horner to be fair.

Wasn't Helmut Marko in charge of hiring / firing the drivers ?

Signing Lawson to the main team appeared to be an act of desperation.

Ah perhaps you are correct, though he is gone now I believe?
Bit of an odd arrangement I thought personally, and he came across to me as an equally objectionable character.

Doohan also got shafted of course.
I thought Lawson handled himself very well, and delighted to see him flourishing at the junior team.
