I have one of these:

which I'd like to mount on the handlebars. I was thinking about maybe one of these:

...but whether I use that or something similar, all the videos I've found online from handlebar-mounted cameras have been so wobbly/distorted as to induce nausea.

Has anyone managed to get decent film from a handlebar-mounted setup, and if so, how did you go about it?

Thanks for any suggestions.

You need a decent quality mount such as RAM, then use a camera with image stabilisation such as the Sony action camera.
All else fails find some newly laid tarmac:tongue:

I have one of those video cameras too. It's a Kodak Zi8, isn't it? They have a standard camera screw thread on the bottom so you could bolt the camera to something and attach that to you or the bike. I think chest-mount seems to be better. Your body does not bounce about anywhere near as much as the bike does.

I was going to try and video a couple of the local climbs and descents but haven't got round to it yet.

Tried a number of handlebar mounted set ups with variable results. Garmin Virb on it's dedicated handlebar mount is surprisingly steady and gives good results, albeit not quite as steady as a helmet mount, depending on the road surface.

An example of an older crappy camera, handlebar mounted here.

Counterintuitively, a hard camera mount with just a little rubber damper around the final bit that screws into the camera seems to work best. However, the hard plastic eventually becomes brittle and I've not spotted a new one for sale, so maybe I'll have to switch to body mounting too. I blame nutters who put cameras ready to smash into their heads.
