hello all
I used to have a merida matts 50 mountain bike prior to it being stolen, and would use 32f 32 rear to get up a certain hill aleit it slowly cycle weight about 32lbs.
I also have spezialised sirrus elite weight 27lbs with rack etc if I use 30f 32 rear 700x28c wheels I cannot get up the same hill without stopping part way up.
I have always thought its the difference in wheel size 26" vs 700x28c that makes the difference.
however finding a gear ratio inch calculator on google (cycle seven) and inputing gearing and wheelsize they appear to be very similar ratios so am a bit baffled why I could go up the hill using mtb.
700x28c 25.10 gear inches distance travelled 2.003 meters
26"x1.175 25.35 gear inches 2.023 meters traveled
thank you all
