This might sound like a silly question but I'm wanting to attach my iPod Touch (4G) to my handlebars so I can record some rides. Obviously, it would need to be mounted horizontally and I'm not looking to fork out money for a special mount.

Does anyone know how to do this?

i dont think an ipod touch has gps so you wont be able to record much other than use the stopwatch to see the time taken for the ride.

d'oh

in that case i know someone who attaches their iphone onto their helmet and also the chest strap on a camelbak. They had it in a normal protective sleeve and that was duck taped on. It doesnt look particularly secure on the helmet but on the strap it looks fine

How would you mount it to your chest?

There was someone who posted a day or two ago about using a jogging holder to attach to their phone to their stem. Not sure of the exact info but I think he used one of those arm band type holders you get.

Its attached to the strap on the camelbak so you'd need to wear a camelbak or other type of backpack. I think he just wraps alot of duck tape around the phone case and the strap until it is secure.

Chest mounting the camera gives quite a good perspective (particularly for mountain biking) as you see what the arms and hands are doing where the handlebars are pointing etc

Not sure I'd trust my phone on the bars, personally... I record gps tracks of (some) rides by putting my phone (android) in rear jersey pocket. Works a treat, but obv you can't see stuff as you're going along. I use it just to record maps of ride plus ride info, not to look at as I'm going along though.
