Right: Clint Eastwood as The Man With No Name and Dirty Harry; Ewan McGregor in Trainspotting.

Wrong but: Little Ben 'Gandhi' Kingsley as the psychotic villain in Sexy Beast - yikes - I'd never been so scared of a small man before!

Matt Damon in anything.... he's got the presence of a used teabag. Nick Cage is a bloody aweful actor, but opposite Damon, he might get a nomination for an award.

I like George Lazonby's Bond... OHMSS is one of the top 5 bond films in my book.
I also like Daniel Craig's Bond... a refreshing change from that Brosnan bloke.

Right: John Thaw as Morse

Not quite right but good all the same: Krister Hendrikson as Wallander.

Ok, so its telly, but hey ho!

Krister Hendrikson isn't the fat one is he?

If not, I actually prefer him as Wallender. I'm not so keen on the tubby one. ^_^

Right =
1. Patrick Stewart in almost anything
You'd follow Jean-Luc Picard anywhere - what a leader
His Captain Ahab & Ebeneezer Scrooge were perfect renditions too

2. Robert Downey jr as Sherlock Holmes
Slightly 'off the wall'/'eccentric', but a good physical performance all the same (as it says they're only 'based on' the stories)
Jude Law made a good Watson, exasperated by Holmes antics, but still maintaining his Army skills (combat, etc..)

3. Richard Dreyfuss/Harrison Ford/Ron Howard/Charles Martin Smith/Wolfman Jack all were perfectly cast in 'American Graffiti'

4. Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash (& Reese Witherspoon as June Carter) in 'Walk the Line'

5. Kevin Conroy as Bruce Wayne/Batman................ Who you may ask??, well you've not seen the Warner Brothers animations then

Mark (Luke Skywalker) Hamill voiced The Joker in the cartoons too!

6. Ingrid Bolsø Berdal as Sergeant Angua in (the TV adaptation of ) Terry Pratchetts 'Going Postal' (which raises the question of who would play Carrot, Vimes. Sybil, etc.... in a City Watch film???)

Matt Damon in anything.... he's got the presence of a used teabag..

Meh, I thought Damon was very good in Syiana and also GHW. His woodedness added to the role of each.

I've said before that Denzil washington would have been superb as Morpheus in the matrix (pah to Fishburn)

Another big right is the sublime Poitier in heat of the night...just magical and also Hepburn in "on golden pond"...actually hepburn in most anything is pretty smashing "Guess who's coming to dinner" is another perfect one and has them both.

Wrong
Jonny Depp as Willy Wonka

Right
Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka

Right
Michael Caine as Charlie Croker
