Each to their own.
I can take it our leave it. When I've watched it, sometimes I've found it hilarious, other times I've found it lame. Didn't watch it this time, found something better to do. The humour isn't consistent enough for me. Although, the rhetoric directed at the Church, I do find amusing! But, any rhetoric directed at any religion, I would probably find funny.
It's no Father Ted though!!!!!!

I watched about 5 minutes of an episode a while ago and declared it a programme never to watch again, maybe I'm missing out on something but I'm prepared to take the risk

It's panto with swearing.
I just watched the Christmas one. It's unusual in the way it uses the performance aspect of the televised sketch quite openly. The ''offs'' were to the studio audience and the viewer at the same time. That ''hybrid'' is-it-stage-or-telly format seems rare to me.

On the level of the material, rolling out old jokes and slapstickery didn't rise to match the format's potential.

On the level of the performance, given that it was more a watched live performance than a packaged TV comedy, I can't fault it. That for me was its strongest part.

And I have a liking for the coarser side of things. Sexuality, conflict, and maliciousness in older people are all true to life but rarely seen on TV. It takes the micky out of prudery.

All in all, I enjoyed it more than I expected. Tentative rewatch material for me.

The portrayal of Mrs Brown reminds me a lot of my granny in her later years. Very much unphased giving her children a slap even when they're all in their late 40's and mid 50's but also very quick witted and often sharp tongued.

Wasn't scared to slap her grandchildren either, I was at the end of a few but I respected her for it.. If you don't get it, change the channel..

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I enjoy mrs brown. She reminds me of my mother who says a certain word just like mrs brown and yes, my mother is Irish. My mum is 92 and she says mrs brown is the best thing on TV.

My mum and dad were watching it on Friday evening, sky + and they were in serious need of oxygen from their hysterical laughter......personally I can't bear it!
