£89 for discs and licence for three PCs looks very good value.

So, how does this differ from the standard version at £190 (licence for one desktop and 1 laptop)?

And what is to stop a small business using the Student and Home version?

Or to hell with it all and just go with Libre Office?

What to do?

Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 software does not include Outlook. Customers who need Outlook should shop Office Home and Business or Office Professional 2010

The amount of computers you can use is different. I tried it and dumped it, prefer MS 2003 altough i have never had to pay.

It might be better to avoid getting locked into the Microsoft ecosystem by going with LibreOffice if you can.

I use it, and for what I do it's more than good enough. LibreOffice is completely free and has a large community. In the future, if you want to you can start using it on a GNU/Linux, FreeBSD or OSX system without a learning curve and with complete compatibility.

This has several advantages, security, stability and driver availability are arguably better at least on GNU/Linux, compared with Windows. Additionally, if you want to share files with someone else they can get the software instantly and free.

The drawbacks are a lack of perfect compatibility with MS Office files and a lack of familiarity to someone who has used MS Office for any length of time.

What does "New Addition to Suite" mean? OneNote was in Office 2007 although obviously it was OneNote2007 rather than 2010. And what's happened to Groove?
