Hi everyone. Im entered into a mountain bike half marathon in august (55k) any suggestions on a time i should be aimng for? Im 27, reasonably fit, hitting the gym once a week and clocking 30-50k a week on the bike plus 20+ k a week on the turbo trainer. Also a regular spin class attendee. Any help would be much appreciated.

Im sure i will enjoy it thoroughly but that little competitive niggle is there and i want a reasonable time. Im riding with a friend so the before and after banter is already rearing its ugly head.lol

There are just so many factors its impossible for anyone to give you an idea unless they've ridden the course. Maybe someone has though. Which event is it?

too many unknowns to provide a meaningful answer - mainly the terrain i.e. hilliness and surface i.e. mudiness will affect your speed, not to menation climate i.e. pouring with rain or scorchingly hot.

I did a 100k (60 odd miles) mostly off road, not particulalry hilly but very muddy in 7 hours last years so at your age you ought to beat that easily, obvioulsy adjusted to the distance you are riding. The time did include grub stops.
