MTB tyre construction

Do some MTB tyres have a form of wire reinforcement in the tyre casing construction?

Had a slow puncture and when I felt inside the tyre carcass felt a tiny needle sharp piece of wire.
I think I removed with tweezers but not sure then filed down the area with some glasspaper and taped in some duck tape to cover where it had been.

I can do without having to replace an otherwise perfectly serviceable tyre, if this is going to happen again.
Make is Kenda small block

weird then.... it felt like fuse wire but couldnt see any entry point from outside

Fuse wire is too soft, it'll be steel.
